Last week, the USA and The EU approved the trade deal. The European Union has pledged to buy from The United States of coal, oil, gas, petroleum products and nuclear products for $ 750 billion. In France, they say that American companies will resell to countries EU and Russian gas.

"The results of the deal between Trump and Putin on August 15 (in Alaska) is very broad, and this will affect both the security of the world and the issues of energy cooperation. Europe has found itself in a completely terrible state, and now it will be very difficult for it to get out of this situation, because for it it will end up buying Russian gas through American companies and paying three or four times more expensive," French geopolitologist Caroline Galakteros said in an interview with reporter Philippe Buffon. The video is posted on the journalist's YouTube page.

As an example of the restoration of cooperation between Russia and the United States, Caroline Galakteros cited the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to which ExxonMobil can return to the Sakhalin-1 project, albeit with certain conditions.

"You need to know that ExxonMobil left the Russian market in 2022 under pressure and lost more than $ 4 billion. Now we see European naivety and its stupidity and our energy unbearability. So, yes, we will all pay three to four times more. The fuel will be labeled by the Americans, but, in fact, it will still be Russian gas," the French geopolitologist added.

As EADaily reported, the US and the EU have concluded a new trade deal, and the European Union has pledged to purchase energy carriers in The United States in the next three years by $ 750 billion — $ 250 billion per year. At the same time, the USA is already the largest supplier The EU and the annual volume does not exceed $ 80 billion. In practice, the EU will be able to buy oil, petroleum products, gas and coal in the United States for such an amount only if a new energy crisis begins and prices soar: oil — up to $ 120 per barrel, and gas — up to almost $ 850 per thousand cubic meters.

Alexey Grivach, Deputy director of the National Energy Security Fund (NWF), notes that at current prices the deal cannot be executed even if the United States resells all gas to the EU, including Norwegian gas.

Earlier this year, American investors became interested in taking ownership of Nord Streams and Turkish Stream. They even managed to negotiate with the authorities of European countries. But the specific result is still unknown.
