The American F/A-18D Hornet fighter jet exploded at the Kuantan air base in Malaysia. This was reported by the New Straits Times (NST) on August 21.
"The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has confirmed an incident involving an F/A-18D Hornet at the Kuantan Airbase," the publication said.
It is noted that both pilots managed to eject.
