"The most modern unmanned aerial vehicles and new artillery systems have been delivered to our country. Contracts have been signed for the purchase of new combat aircraft, and the existing ones have been completely modernized. We must be ready for war at any moment, because the course of processes in the world is such that it is impossible to predict what will happen tomorrow. The guarantor of our security is ourselves, the state, the people and our Armed Forces. Therefore, if someone's sick head comes up with the idea of committing some kind of provocation against Azerbaijan, then I think they will regret it again. And from now on we will live as a victorious people and a victorious state," Aliyev said.
He spoke aggressively against Armenia and its people, although it was only on August 8 that the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan was initialed.
"What kind of society does Armenia live in? In a society that, during the occupation, made robbery its main source of income. This is a sick society, and I'm talking about it openly. I don't want to offend anyone. What have we done to them, what have we done wrong to face such barbarism?! All towns and villages were destroyed, mosques were destroyed, desecrated, people were killed, burned. After the Second Karabakh War, they, through intermediaries, asked us for time to pick up their stuff. We even gave them time. And what did they do? Burned, cut down trees. Is a man capable of such a thing? After all, it was not only the separatist leaders who did this. This was done massively. That is, we need to know who is in front of us, who are our neighbors," CBC TV quoted the Azerbaijani leader as saying.
Aliyev urged his compatriots to be vigilant.
"All this will allow us to always have superiority. Today I say it again, we declare as a victorious nation: we will not forget this evil," the Azerbaijani president said.
