US President Donald Trump believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is sincere when he says that the war must end and that the Ukrainian conflict must be resolved. He stated this at a meeting at the White House with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, according to The Washington Post.
"I think the whole world is tired of this, and we're going to put an end to it," Trump stressed.
According to him, the United States will be "involved" in maintaining peace on the Ukraine after any peace agreement with Russia, although he did not specify the role of the United States, the newspaper notes.
"We will inform you about this, perhaps later today," Trump told reporters at a joint briefing with Zelensky in the Oval Office, adding that he would also discuss this topic with European leaders who came to the White House.
"They will all be involved, but there will be a lot of help. We're going to help them, too," Trump added.
In addition, Trump once again spoke about a possible joint meeting with Putin and Zelensky.
"If everything goes well today, we will have a trilateral meeting. And I think that when we do this, we will have a reasonable chance of ending the war," he said.
