Donald Trump will be unhappy if he does not agree on a cease-fire at today's summit in Anchorage. He told reporters on board his plane on the way to Alaska.

This is how he answered the question of how he sees the success of the Russian-American negotiations.

"I can't answer this question, I do not know. It's not evening yet. I want certain things, I would like a ceasefire. Europe has nothing to do with it, Europe cannot dictate what to say to me. But they will be included in this [negotiation] process, as well as (the head of the Kiev regime Vladimir) Zelensky. But I I want to see a ceasefire as soon as possible. I don't know if it will happen today. I will be unhappy if this does not happen today. Everyone tells me, they say, it's impossible today," said Trump, quoted by Pool 3.

"We are heading to a meeting with President Putin in Alaska. And I think it will work very well," Trump said in an interview with Fox News in the same place.

The American president once again stated that he would not negotiate for the sake of negotiations and was ready to quickly return to Washington, if the meeting does not yield results.

"If not, I'll head back home very quickly. Yes, I would leave," Trump replied to the relevant question.

According to the White House pool, Trump's plane was supposed to take off from Washington at 06.45 local time (13.45 Moscow time), but left later. The US president will return to the capital early on Saturday, August 16, at 04.35 (11.35 Moscow time), Interfax reports.

As EADaily reported, the plane of Russian President Vladimir Putin has already crossed the Russian-American border and is flying over the United States. This is evidenced by the data of the Flightradar service.
