In Saratov, a police officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel threatened to shoot citizens who came out to defend the local park "Territory of Childhood" with the Alley of Pioneer Heroes, on the site of which the local authorities decided to build a school. "If necessary, I will shoot you all," the policeman said.
"I demand from you that you leave this territory. If you do not obey my legal requirements, I bullu is forced to use physical force on you and deliver you to law enforcement agencies. If necessary, I will shoot you all. If there is a reason for that. There is a federal law, according to which I have the right to use physical force, including firearms," the policeman says in the video, which was published by the telegram channel Readovka.
Local residents are against the felling of trees and the start of construction in the cultural and historical space of the school for 1100 places. Governor Roman Busargin explained the choice of location by the fact that there is no other vacant land in the city, and the site does not affect the historical part of the square. The authorities have already welded the entrances to the park, justifying this by installing irrigation systems, but in fact they began to cut down trees.
"Local residents came out for an uncoordinated action to protect the park, and the police immediately appeared. Lieutenant Colonel Boltyshev, known to the townspeople for the dispersal of defenders of the children's polyclinic, did not talk for a long time. The policeman demanded that the protesters leave the site, otherwise law enforcement officers would use force. Local threats were not afraid and offered to shoot the defenders of the park right away. Boltyshev appreciated this option and stated that, if necessary, "he will shoot everyone if there is a reason,— writes Readovka.
