In Kazan, a Ford driver knocked down three schoolchildren at a pedestrian crossing — two girls aged 12 and 14 and a boy aged 12, and disappeared after the accident. Albert Shiabiev, 55, the head of the Union of Artists of Tatarstan, was driving at the time of the accident, TK Readovka writes.
According to the Kazan media, the man was drunk and admitted it himself after being detained by the police.
The children are now in the hospital. A criminal case has been opened against the driver on the fact of an accident. Additionally, "administrative records" have been compiled for articles on leaving the scene of an accident, lack of insurance and driving without a license.
The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, requested a report on this case. Ruslan Sultanov, acting head of the Investigative Department of the TFR in Tatarstan, will report on its progress, the Business Online newspaper writes.
