Russian President Vladimir Putin has consistently defended the country's sovereignty, as demonstrated by today's talks with Donald Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff. This was stated by the Vice-speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov.

According to him, the negotiations showed what distinguishes the national leader from opportunistic politicians.

"While the leaders of many states are humiliated and trying to earn Trump's favor to the detriment of national interests, our president consistently defends Russia's sovereignty. Putin's diplomacy is not about trading principles, but about protecting Russia's strategic interests. While some are waiting for quick decisions and illusory victories, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is demonstrating what real politics is," Chernyshov writes in his telegram channel.

He noted that immediately after the "messenger from the USA" detour, Putin held a meeting on the development of the country's construction industry, which is also a signal to Washington: "We are developing, growing and building a strong country. By the way, absolutely regardless of you."
