A person who has never worked anywhere can still count on receiving a pension, the maximum amount of which will be at least 15 thousand rubles in 2025.
This was told to RIA Novosti by State Duma deputy from the United Russia party Alexei Govyrin. He explained that it was possible to achieve such an indicator thanks to the federal social supplement.
According to the politician, this is a manifestation of the social care of the Russian state, which supports all senior citizens of the country without exception.
"If a person for some reason did not work, then he receives a social pension in the amount of 8824 plus a surcharge. He is being paid a regional or federal supplement up to the subsistence minimum," Govyrin said.
He clarified that the federal supplement is made if the regional subsistence minimum is lower than the federal one, and the regional one if it is higher. The federal subsistence minimum for pensioners in 2025 is 15,250 rubles, the agency's interlocutor stated.
Earlier, Yaroslav Nilov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, called for the abolition of the upper threshold for pension increases for working pensioners of three points.
Earlier, EADaily reported that since August 1, the Social Fund of Russia has recalculated pensions for working pensioners, which affected 9.6 million people.
