A fight between deputies of the ruling party of Vladimir Zelensky "Servant of the People" began in the hall of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during a meeting of the parliament, which was broadcast live for the first time since the beginning of SMO Russia.
The first thing the audience saw today, on July 31, was a brawl of deputies. The live broadcast was conducted by the Rada TV channel.
The fight between People's Deputies Vladlen Neklyudov and Gennady Kasai took place against the background of the demand of many parliamentarians to the Speaker of the Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk to launch a live broadcast of the meeting.
A few minutes later, the broadcast was launched on the parliamentary channel Rada. The fact that on July 31, for the first time in three years, a meeting of the Rada will be shown live, was previously announced by parliamentarian Irina Gerashchenko.
The Rada plans for today to consider the law on restoring the independence of anti-corruption bodies of Ukraine. The decision to limit their powers last week sparked mass protests across Ukraine, as well as threats from the West to stop helping Kiev.
Another rally in support of the independence of anti-corruption agencies is taking place today and in Mariinsky Park is not far from the Rada building, the Strana newspaper reports. The protesters chant "Shame" to the deputies arriving at the meeting.
Until February 24, 2022, the meetings of the Rada were broadcast live. After the SMO started, it was stopped under the pretext of ensuring security measures. However, for more than two years, meetings have been regularly broadcast on YouTube and TikTok by various deputies.
