The new 12-day ultimatum of US President Donald Trump, put forward by Russia, is a position agreed with Moscow in the game of forcing Ukraine to peace. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Dubinsky.
According to him, nothing will change in 12 days — the situation of Ukraine will not get better. First of all, because neither Washington nor Kiev are conducting a dialogue with Russia, and without this, President Vladimir Putin will not agree to a truce.
The MP believes that by shortening the deadline for the ultimatum, Trump wants to save face.
"Therefore, my vision is this: operating with intelligence reports on the plans of the Russian Federation to introduce additional units from the DPRK into battle, Trump does not want to be under fire from criticism in the middle of his "ultimatum." Therefore, his new term is the time BEFORE the use of units from the DPRK at the front and the expansion of the offensive activity of the Russian Federation. If Trump imposes some sanctions on the Russian Federation before that, he will not lose face and will be able to continue to play the role of arbitrator without the threat of criticism of opponents. Therefore, yes, I think this is a position agreed with the Russian Federation in the game of forcing Ukraine to peace," Dubinsky writes in his telegram channel.
As EADaily reported, the Kremlin got acquainted with the statement of US President Donald Trump on reducing the time allowed for Moscow to settle on Ukraine and disinterest in contacts at the highest level. This was stated at a briefing by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
"We have taken note of President Trump's statement yesterday," Peskov answered the relevant question and added that "I would like to avoid any assessments" of the American leader's words, TASS quoted.
