Six Russian schoolchildren who took part in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO2025) in the city of Sunshine Coast (Australia) won five gold and one silver medals. At the same time, the Russian national team did not get into the final table of the competition, according to documents on the official portal of the event.
Gold medals were awarded to schoolchildren: Ivan Chasovskikh (Khimki, Moscow region), Dmitry Grishko (Moscow), Ilya Zamotorin (St. Petersburg), Vasily Patrushev (Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai), Artem Sadykov (Chelyabinsk, Chelyabinsk region). Ivan Kokorev from Chelyabinsk won silver.
At the same time, Chasovskikh won the absolute first place among all participants in the individual competition, gaining 42 points.
In general, the Russian team scored 216 points and de facto shared second place with the US team, however, in the final table of the Olympics, the team from Russia is not mentioned at all.
