The European Union has approved "one of the toughest" packages of sanctions against Russia, the head of the Foreign Ministry announced today, July 18. EU Kaya Callas.

"The EU has just approved one of the toughest packages of sanctions against Russia to date, Europe will not refuse to support Ukraine. The EU will continue to increase pressure until Russia stops the war."

According to AFP, the sanctions will primarily lead to a reduction in the price of Russian oil exported to third countries to 15% below the market. Since the introduction of sanctions, the price per barrel will be $ 47.60 and may change in the future. It was also added that the sanctions will also include restrictions on transactions related to Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2.

In addition, the media reported on the introduction of an extended ban on transactions with Russian banks and export blockades of goods that could be used against Ukraine. The agreement also emphasizes the importance of including in the sanctions list more than 100 additional vessels from the so-called "shadow fleet", which is allegedly used to circumvent Russia's restrictions on oil exports.
