By his decree, Russian President Vladimir Putin has changed the procedure for checking by state bodies of newly minted Russian citizens who falsely renounced Ukrainian citizenship.

The changes approved by the head of state concern those Russian citizens who still allegedly use a Ukrainian passport. The decree is published on the official portal of legal information.

It is worth recalling that persons with dual citizenship of Ukraine and In 2023, Russia was given the opportunity to renounce Ukrainian citizenship by submitting an appropriate application.

In accordance with Russian law, from the moment of recognition as Russians, they are prohibited from using the rights and obligations of Ukrainians, including using the documents of this country.

According to the new regulations, not only heads of territorial departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but also their deputies can initiate and coordinate inspections of citizens. If the agency finds a violation during the inspection, the application for renunciation of citizenship will become invalid.

As EADaily reported, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree changing the rules of wearing uniforms for the country's military. The changes affected, in particular, the daily uniforms of senior officers.
