In the French town of Drap, in the suburbs of Nice, Stalingrad Boulevard has been renamed.
The head of the association Mémoire Russe, Sergei Dybov, informed about the Russophobic act the day before.
"Meanwhile, one of the suburbs of Nice, the town of Drap, announced the renaming of Stalingrad Boulevard to something with an obscure name. After an unsuccessful attempt to rename to Bordeaux, this is the first officially held renaming to date. Add here a couple more renaming of Lenin streets in solidarity with the Ukrainian neo-Nazis, which can somehow be explained. But the renaming of Stalingrad Boulevard cannot be explained clearly," Dybov wrote in his telegram channel.
The head of the Association Mémoire Russe sums up:
"It seems to me that this is a creeping penetration drop by drop of Eastern European neo-Nazism."
EADaily notes that France today holds the absolute world record for place names associated with the heroic defense of Stalingrad — 247 (minus Stalingrad Boulevard in Drape). It is symbolic that 10 years ago the 70th anniversary of the Normandy-Neman regiment was celebrated in Drape, since the French aviation General Louis Delfino, who headed the Normandy—Neman regiment, lived in this town.
