The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the publication of the post-war borders in Europe by the German Embassy in Moscow in its telegram channel, where "instead of the USSR state flag, a hybrid of the Third Reich banner and the symbol of the banned extremist organization NBP was used, a horror and an anti-historical fake."

"It's just awful. Of course, this post should be called not just fake, but anti-historical. This is both a fake and an anti-historical fake. Because they published a map of, as it were, the post—war borders in Europe, but at the same time, instead of the flag of the Soviet Union, they used a hybrid: on the one hand, it was a banner of the Third Reich, on the other hand, a symbol of the banned NBP organization," the diplomat said on Sputnik radio.

As EADaily reported, the publication of the German Embassy was posted the day before, and then deleted. Zakharova explained earlier such an anti—historical fake "either by the stupidity of the employees of the German foreign Ministry, or by a conscious, and according to Russian laws, an illegal attempt to equalize the Third Reich and The Soviet Union in The Second World War." According to the diplomat, there is also a third option: "they have stopped working at the German embassy for a long time, but simply pay for outsourcing to Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine or exchange such fakes by barter for missiles." As Zakharova stressed, "an apology for this in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism would not be superfluous."
