Baku expects that "those guilty of violations of the law committed by Russian law enforcement agencies as a result of the incident in Yekaterinburg" on June 27 will be punished, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov told Russian Ambassador Mikhail Evdokimov summoned to the Foreign Ministry.

"At the same time, it was noted that attempts to present the position of the Azerbaijani side as interference in the internal affairs of Russia are groundless," Azimov said.

According to him, the claims of the Russian side, put forward in connection with the conduct of investigative measures by Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies in the office of Sputnik-Azerbaijan, "have no basis."

As EADaily reported, Yekaterinburg is investigating cases of murders of immigrants from Azerbaijan committed in the early 2000s on The Urals. In this regard, on June 27, members of the ethnic group — immigrants from Azerbaijan, citizens of Russia - were detained. Two of the detainees are the Safarov brothers, owners of the Kaspiy cafe associated with crime — they died. The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has opened a case of "premeditated murder".
