People's Artist of the RSFSR, theater and film actress Valentina Talyzina died at the age of 91. This was reported in the Mossovet Theater.
"The Mossovet Theater is deeply saddened to announce that today, June 21, 2025, People's Artist of Russia Valentina Illarionovna Talyzina has died," the message says.
During her long creative career, Talyzina played more than 40 roles in theater and about 100 roles in cinema, becoming popular with several generations of Russian moviegoers.
"Wide erudition and deep knowledge of literature prompted the actress to create a number of poetic programs with which she performed at concert and theater venues in Russian cities and abroad. Valentina Talyzina has always worked a lot and enthusiastically on the radio, reading poetry, prose and participating in radio performances," the theater emphasized.
The actress celebrated her 90th birthday on the stage of the Moscow City Council Theater, playing the Countess in The Queen of Spades, among relatives, colleagues, friends and enthusiastic spectators who greeted her with a standing ovation.
"The staff of the Mossovet Theater expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Valentina Illarionovna. The passing of Valentina Illarionovna Talyzina is a huge loss for Russian art and an irreparable loss for our theater," the actress's colleagues state.
The place and time of the farewell will be announced separately, the theater said.
Valentina Talyzina was born on January 22, 1935 in Omsk. After graduating from high school, from 1952 to 1954 she studied at the Omsk Agricultural Institute. After studying for only two years at the university, she entered GITIS (workshop of Nikolai Petrov). After graduating from high school in 1958, she joined the troupe of the Mossovet Theater. She made her film debut in 1963 as Inna in the detective story "The Man Who Doubts" by Leonid Agranovich and Vladimir Semakov. Actively began acting since the late 1960s, almost every role of Talyzina became a favorite of the audience. Among the most popular heroines are Alevtina in Eldar Ryazanov's film "Zigzag of Luck" (1968), Fedyaev's secretary in Ryazanov's "Old Robbers" (1971), in his cult film "The Irony of Fate, or with a light steam" played not only the girlfriend of the main character, but also voiced the character of Barbara Brylska.
Along with numerous film awards and prizes for her roles in the theater, Talyzina was awarded the Order of Honor (2005), the Order of Friendship (2010) and the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree (2017).
