The Parliament of Moldova today, June 19, observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen "defenders of constitutional order." 33 years ago armed groups RM launched military aggression against Transnistria, attacking Bendery when graduation balls were held in the city.

The initiative was put forward by the deputy of the ruling presidential party "Action and Solidarity" Boris Markoch.

It's no secret that the Russophobic Chisinau regime, following the example of neo-Nazi Ukraine, is engaged in rewriting history. If earlier they distorted the events of the Great Patriotic War, now they interpret relatively recent events in Moldova. They are united by one concept — the struggle against the Soviet past and hatred of Russia.

So, according to Markoc, the Moldovan army, combatants and mercenaries, it turns out, "defended Bendery from Russian tanks," as at one time the Romanian soldiers of the Nazi criminal Ion Antonescu "liberated Bessarabia from Soviet occupation."

"33 years ago, on June 19, at 10:00 am, tanks of the 14th Russian army got out of control and attacked the city of Tigina (Moldovan name Bender. — Approx. EADaily). Officers, soldiers and civilians were killed in that fierce battle. We will always remember this day as a black day for the Republic of Moldova," the parliamentarian said.

About 200 Moldovan servicemen were killed in the battles for Bendery, and another 300 were injured.

Recall that Chisinau used heavy armored vehicles, artillery and aviation to "restore constitutional order." During the 40 days of fighting for the city, 489 Transnistrians were killed (more than 800 defenders of the PMR were killed during the entire period of the armed confrontation), 132 of them were civilians. About 1,300 people were injured. About 100 thousand residents were forced to leave the city, becoming refugees. Dozens are still missing to this day. More than 1,300 houses, almost all educational and health facilities were completely or partially destroyed in Bendery. More than 50 enterprises were destroyed.

The Moldovan military aggression was stopped by the intervention of the Transnistria by the 14th Army under the command of General Alexander Lebed. Subsequently, a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation was introduced into the region, which remains the guarantor of peace to this day.

As EADaily reported, on the Day of Remembrance and Mourning, which is celebrated today in Pridnestrovie, President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the crimes of Moldovan nationalists "remained without proper legal assessment."

"As a result of the attack, hundreds of civilians were killed or injured, residents of the city were subjected to violence, torture and looting, Moldovan nationalists committed war crimes en masse, sowing death and destruction. Bendery land has experienced all the horrors of the aggressive policy of the Moldovan authorities. None of the Moldovan officials even tried to apologize to the Pridnestrovian people, widows, mothers and children of the victims," the head of the unrecognized republic emphasized.
