A 22-year-old Russian citizen who planned a terrorist attack in places where there are a lot of people was detained in the Krasnodar Territory on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine, the FSB Public Relations Center of Russia reported.
"The FSB detained a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 2003, who, on the instructions of the SBU, planned to commit a terrorist act in crowded places on the territory of the Krasnodar Territory. Following the next instruction of the curator, the detainee planned to remove an IED weighing 2.5 kg from the cache for subsequent detonation in the administrative building of one of the energy facilities of the region," the agency said in a statement.
It is noted that earlier the detainee was photographing military facilities for the Ukrainian special services and collecting information on the movements of ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
"The accused has pleaded guilty and is cooperating with the investigation," the FSB said.
According to the intelligence service, in February 2025, a person involved using the WhatsApp messenger was recruited by Kiev to obtain intelligence information on the territory of Russia. The investigative department of the FSB in the Krasnodar Territory has opened a criminal case against him under part 1 of Article 30, part 1 of Article 205 (preparation for a terrorist attack) and part 1 of Article 30, part 3 of Article 222.1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, shipment or carrying of explosives or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation..
