Secretary of the State Security Council of Russia Sergei Shoigu arrived in Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong-un. The Russian Federation will not remain in debt for military assistance, but will help the DPRK achieve an economic boom. The observer reflects on the reasons for the rather unexpected visit Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.

According to official data, Shoigu in Pyongyang intends this time to honor the memory of the North Korean soldiers who participated in the Battle of Kursk; to discuss the implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement with the North Korean side and international hot spots.

"The parties will discuss issues on the international agenda, including the situation around Ukraine," the press service of the Russian Security Council said.

According to TASS, the visit to The DPRK took place on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. If we are talking about Ukraine, then, most likely, the discussion will affect the increase in the Korean military contingent and its participation in SMO operations, as well as the supply of ammunition and weapons to the Russian Federation.

In March of this year, both sides confirmed the participation of the DPRK military in SMO is based on article 4 of the Strategic Partnership Treaty, which states that "if one of the parties finds itself in a state of war due to an armed attack by one or more States, the other party will immediately provide it with military assistance by all means at its disposal."

After the Kursk operation, many Russian military correspondents directly relied on increasing the number of the Korean contingent (according to Western sources, up to 10-12 thousand fighters) in order to achieve a breakthrough in some sectors of the front in the DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. The "international reaction" caused concern.

The second item on the international agenda is, of course, the situation on the On the Korean peninsula in connection with the presidential elections of South Korea held on Sunday, June 1. It should be noted that after the conclusion of the strategic partnership agreement, provoking the North Koreans became much more dangerous for Washington and Seoul. Last year, amendments to The Constitution of the DPRK designated South Korea as a hostile country, and President Kim Jong-un threatened to use nuclear weapons if necessary.

This combination of factors has brought a much less militant leader to power in South Korea. Lee Jae-myung stressed that the previous president "did not need to provoke the hostility of the DPRK, Russia and China." He promised to maintain a dialogue with Pyongyang and opposed South Korea becoming a nuclear power or asking the United States to deploy tactical nuclear weapons there.

It is also possible that Shoigu came to prepare Kim's visit to Moscow, after which the union of the two countries, literally sealed with blood, will reach a higher level in order not just to bring the DPRK out of international economic isolation, but to ensure its reindustrialization. Already now, the Russian Federation has done a lot in this direction with the supply of energy resources and food, the workload of Korean military factories entering the DPRK currency.

This year, 18 new factories for the production of consumer goods, food and clothing factories will start operating in the country. Russia will buy products, providing orders and raising the standard of living of the population. Tourism will develop in DPRK, Korean workers will work in the Russian Federation.

The DPRK will become not only a powerful military, but also an economically developed country, as it was with the support of the Soviet Union in the 70s, ranking second in terms of living standards in Northeast Asia after Japan.
