The Ukrainian armed forces, after retreating from the settlement of Belovody, lost control of one of the key routes leading from the border directly to Sumy, Russian law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.

"After the withdrawal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the village of Belovody, the enemy lost control of one of the roads directly connecting this section of the front with Sumy," the source said.

According to him, this route was actively used by the Ukrainian side to transfer personnel and cargo from the Sum.

The village of Belovody is located in the Sumy region of Ukraine, five kilometers from the border with the Russian Kursk region. The Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the village on May 26.

On April 26, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the completion of the operation to liberate the Kursk region from Ukrainian militants.
