The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is considering the possibility of introducing a total ban for citizens to obtain loans in order to combat fraudsters.

This statement was made by Deputy head of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Danil Filippov during the Positive Hack Days cyber festival, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, this initiative will be received positively in society, because then the department will have "the opportunity to protect everyone." The official recalled that the country has already adopted a number of laws that allow citizens to self-prohibit the use of credit.

"But we have a somewhat different concept, we are proposing and trying to introduce it for discussion, which means not a self—lock, but a total ban and, so to speak, individual unblocking," Filippov said.

He explained that every Russian who wants to take out a loan will be specially advised. A potential borrower will be asked certain questions to make sure that the funds received will not be transferred to fraudsters.

Earlier, EADaily reported that fraudsters have mastered a new scheme to deceive citizens. The attackers call the victim allegedly from the clinic and offer to make an appointment or reschedule the recording.
