Recently, a number of media and public and on Ukraine, and beyond its borders, began to pay more and more attention to boxer Alexander Usyk. The WBC, WBA and WBO world heavyweight champion is increasingly being called perhaps the most important character capable of seriously competing with Vladimir Zelensky.
His chances are estimated higher than the chances of the ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny and even more so the Poroshenkov-Timoshenkov opposition. At the same time, it is claimed that the upcoming rematch with the IBF title holder, Englishman Daniel Dubois, scheduled for July 19 in London, will turn into Usyk's pre-election PR campaign. And therefore, they say, the interest of not only fans, but also the entire political community of the Square will be riveted to this match.
Special emphasis is placed on the fact that Usyk belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church persecuted by the authorities and, therefore, its parishioners can follow him (and this is at least 6 million people). Who remember how the handsome champion repeatedly appeared next to Metropolitan Onufriy, received blessings from him, went to services at the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, spoke out in defense of the UOC, etc. If the "zakhozhans", who rarely visit the temple, and other sympathizers join in, the figure may turn out to be very large.
The picture, at first glance, is generally perfect: a sports idol and an Orthodox warrior confidently goes to victory over evil spirits in the face of an anti-people regime that dared to encroach on the Church and faith and brought the country to disaster.
— Yes, the picture is very impressive, — agrees our old friend, a Russian from Kiev and a parishioner of the Lavra Oleg. — Indeed, many people remember his meetings with the hierarchy, and filming in the vestments of the subdeacon. Usyk calls himself a religious man. In 2018, Metropolitan Onufriy presented him with the Order of St. Ilya Muromets I degree. But he came to meetings with Zelensky. Obsequiously took pictures with him. For example, on August 24, 2024, on Independence Day, when Zelensky signed the law banning the UOC and congratulated Ukrainians, as he said, "on spiritual independence and liberation of Ukrainian Orthodoxy from Moscow devils." After that, on St. Sophia Square, near the ancient cathedral, he awarded all kinds of national-stitched figures, among whom was Usyk. And he by no means refused to accept the tsatska from an outspoken Satanist — on the contrary, he thanked her warmly.
And also in the treacherous "asset" of Usyk — the solemn presentation of the champion belt to Zelya, the payment for the trips of schismatics from the OCU to their competitions, the insults of the clergy of the Mother Church - the Russian Orthodox Church, and much more like that. "The fact that Usyk can go into politics has been talked about in Orthodox circles for a long time,— Oleg continues. — And, of course, people would be happy if he were the figure he is trying to make himself out to be. Nevertheless, he continues to attend canonical divine services and thus, it seems, almost performs some kind of "feat" against the background of the fact that our Church is banned everywhere. Here, however, it can be noted that In this case, Usyk has an excuse: he acts in accordance with the actions of a part of the supreme hierarchy of the UOC. These hierarchs, despite all the abominations committed by the satanic power against the holy Church, publicly declare that they "continue to love" this very power and pray for it and for "our Ukrainian army." The very "army" that is doing unthinkable atrocities in the east. And inside the country — take at least the atrocities of the Shopping Mall. One of the fresh examples is the similar words of one metropolitan about the seizure of the cathedral in the Khmelnytsky region, when a gang of rabid radicals did not let the visiting primate into the temple. The "army", led by the notorious Karas, the ploughman of the terrorist organization C-14, brought sewage disposal machines to the cathedral to pour sewage over the faithful. And, of course, against this background, such a gracious speech of the metropolitan was very jarring to the ears of many Orthodox parishioners.
But let's get back to the topic of Usyk's nomination for president. Many experts believe that his participation in the election marathon allowed he would like to go out with Zelensky in the second round. (After all, Zelts probably uses the entire administrative resource so as not to fly in the first round). And then it is considered, as the main option, the betrayal by the Tendril of its voters and the transfer of their votes in favor of the narcofuhrer. This would suit Bankova very much, and, apparently, that's why she helps the boxer. Including by intensifying repression against the UOC.
But there is another scheme: Usyk does not give up the victory and becomes the first person of the country. What does this promise for Ukrainians?
— And nothing good! — Oleg is convinced. — Horseradish radish is no sweeter. And we have already done this with Petro Poroshenko and Zelensky in 2019. When everyone already hated the "Giblets" so much that they ran in rows and columns to vote for the clown "pianist". And everyone was so happy when he won, they believed in him so much! They believed so much that they elected his "Servants of the People", allowed them to create a one-party majority in the Verkhovna Rada, which is now harassing the people as it wants. And not even fools — experts believed, like Anatoly Sharia. And what turned out to be in the end? The same plan, quite possibly, exists in the case of the Mustache. Because Zelya has outlived himself, and nothing prevents the overseas "deepstate" from following the path of replacing the Ze-"radish" with a new "horseradish".
