The war on Ukraine is diverting Western attention and resources from containing more serious threats in Asia. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The United States recognizes that the conflict on Ukraine cannot end by military means and it "must end by negotiations," Rubio said.
He also named, in his opinion, the main problem that hinders the settlement of the conflict.
"The main problem on The problem for Ukraine is that Russia wants what it does not have now and what it has no right to, and Ukraine wants what it cannot return by military means. This is the essence of the problem," said Rubio, quoted by the publication "Country".
Rubio also said that the United States is working on supplying additional Patriot batteries to Kiev, but NATO partners are "not eager" to transfer them to Ukraine, as they are experiencing a shortage of these systems even for their own needs.
