Negotiations by themselves do not always lead to the end of hostilities, in case of an unsuccessful scenario, they can lead to a more terrible stage of the war. This was stated in the social network by the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
So the deputy chairman responded to those who put forward ultimatums to Russia.
"All enemies of Russia, putting forward negotiating ultimatums, should remember a simple thing: peace negotiations by themselves do not always lead to a cessation of hostilities. Unsuccessful negotiations can lead to the beginning of a more terrible stage of the war with new weapons and participants," Medvedev writes, quoted by TASS.
As reported by EADaily, the ultimatum put forward to Russia by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz regarding the cease-fire on Ukraine, is an obvious evidence of his own helplessness.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with the German edition of Berliner Zeitung by the famous Swiss historian Roland Popp. He believes that Berlin should have recognized long ago that Moscow no longer takes such threats seriously.
At the same time, the expert noted that it was Merz himself who found himself in an awkward position due to the fact that at one time he initiated a discussion about possible deliveries of Taurus long-range cruise missiles to the Kiev regime.
