The Russian delegation at today's talks in Istanbul demanded full control over the four regions and the creation of a security zone in Sumy region. This was stated by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexey Goncharenko*.
"The Russians got angry and started talking about Sumy region. They demand the creation of a security zone and threaten the annexation of the region," Goncharenko writes in his telegram channel.
A number of telegram channels reported that Moscow demands full control over four new regions of the Russian Federation, and if Ukraine refuses, there will be five of them.
"We said 8—" is how the Russian delegation commented on RT's "rumors from the Ukrainian side."
As reported by EADaily, the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky, at talks with representatives of Ukraine in Istanbul, asked how many years Kiev was still ready to fight. This was reported on the social network X by The Economist journalist Oliver Carroll.
Russia said it would agree to a cease—fire only if Ukraine withdraws troops from four new Russian regions, and also threatened to take two more - Kharkiv and Sumy regions, Carroll added.
