The statement of the head of the Kiev regime about his intention to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Istanbul is a pure spectacle.

This opinion was expressed by the Vice-speaker of the Federation Council (SF) Konstantin Kosachev, during his speech on the TV channel "Russia 24". He stressed that meetings of heads of state are not prepared in this way.

Earlier, Zelensky responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin's call for direct talks, promising that he would personally wait for him in Turkey on May 15.

"This is a pure performance, it's a comedy, because this is how summit meetings, especially in such a difficult situation, are definitely not organized," the politician said.

As an example, he cited work on a potential meeting between Putin and US President Donald Trump. Kosachev noted that both sides approach this with all scrupulousness and without haste. After all, it is obvious that poor preparation of such negotiations is worse than their absence.

"Zelensky could have remembered this from his own sad experience, when a meeting at the White House with President Trump, not properly prepared in February, ended in a complete fiasco for him," the vice speaker of the Federation Council recalled.

He also suggested that Zelensky is actually afraid of meeting with Putin. Therefore, he tried to "turn the tables" on Russia in order to accuse it of allegedly incompetent.

"He, as Mr. Trump quite correctly says, has no trump cards behind his soul, as they say, it's true, Zelensky is in a disgusting situation," the Russian senator stated.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with journalists, suggested that Kiev resume direct talks on May 15 in Turkey. He stressed that we are talking about direct negotiations without preconditions.

After that, Zelensky promised that he would personally arrive in Istanbul and wait there for the Russian leader on May 15, although he was not going to personally participate in the negotiations. At the same time, Zelya believes that before the negotiations, Russia should agree to a ceasefire for a month from May 12.

As reported by EADaily, a well-known Ukrainian blogger and politician Anatoly Shariy called Zelensky's behavior empty bravado and a game for the public. He pointed out that Putin was not going to personally attend the talks.
