The American billionaire, known by the nickname "the main investor of the planet", Warren Buffett sharply criticized the tariff wars initiated by US President Donald Trump.

Buffett said on CNBC:

"Trade should not become a weapon! We have become an incredibly important country, starting almost from scratch. There has never been anything like this in 250 years of history. But, in my opinion, this is a big mistake — when most of the seven and a half billion people in the world don't particularly like us, and three hundred million are proud of how well we are doing. I think this is wrong and short-sighted."

According to Buffett, "the more prosperous the rest of the world becomes, and this is not at all at our expense, the more prosperous we ourselves will be, the safer we will feel, and the calmer your children will live in the future."

Earlier, the media reported that 94-year-old Warren Buffett plans to leave the position of CEO of the Berkshire Hathaway giant by the end of 2025. Buffett is currently one of the richest people in the world. His fortune for April 2025 is estimated at $ 162 billion.
