The public confrontation inside Ukraine is at the level of life and death, because many people cannot betray the memory of their ancestors who gave their lives for the truth. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on Channel One.
She noted that the countries of the collective West conducted an experiment on the introduction of neo-Nazism into the state ideology on the territory of Ukraine, and this experience ended in an internal public confrontation: the division into those who swore allegiance to the new ideology and those who did not succumb to it.
"Considering that these things are existential for many people, this confrontation really has the character, one might say, of the "life or death" level. Because people, realizing that their ancestors gave their lives for it, defending the truth, < they will never betray their memory and will never be able to live under the opposite ideology," the diplomat said.
At the same time, Zakharova stressed that a whole generation has been on the Ukraine was brought up with the idea that "everything that was 80 years ago was different."
"That there were other heroes, that there were other events, that there were other facts," she stressed, quoted by TASS.
