Nina Ostanina, the head of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Paternity, Motherhood and Childhood, sharply criticized the multimillion-dollar fees artists receive for performing at concerts by May 9.
"I understand that performers need funds to move around, to settle down for the duration of their concert. These costs should be borne by the authorities. And everything else, songs in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, should be from the heart. This is a gratitude to our veterans for the fact that we are alive today," the parliamentarian told the portal URA.ru .
Ostanina noted that she hardly imagines Claudia Shulzhenko, who would go to the front for money and support the fighters.
"After all, the authorities should intervene. There is no worse model for the education of our children and young people than selling and buying patriotism. If you go to sing for 7-8 million, then the price is a penny for you!", — concluded Ostanina.
As EADaily reported, it was Ostanina who in August last year made a proposal to the Honored Artist of Russia Yaroslav Dronov (SHAMAN) to send the performance fee to City day in Orenburg flood victims. In the text of the appeal, spending on the artist's fee was called "an unaffordable luxury at such a difficult time for the region."
Later, the vice-speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov ("New People") introduced a bill to parliament, which proposes to prohibit spending more than 1 million rubles from the budget on performances by artists.
