The idea that Russian President Vladimir Putin can attack any European country is a ploy that Europe uses to rearm. This was announced by the German economist Max Otte.

"I think the idea that Putin can threaten or in any way attack a European country is just a ploy that Europe uses to rearm. Even the Baltic States, which was the most obvious option — their membership in NATO was accepted by Russia. Thus, the Baltic states are under the NATO nuclear umbrella. Of course, there are concerns, but in my assessment of Putin as a very rational player, I believe that this is completely excluded," said Otte, quoted by Pool No. 3.

According to him, NATO is a confrontational alliance.

"It was clear to me 30 years ago that if this expansion continues, we will eventually reach the red lines of Russia. That's what we've come to. Putin warned that Ukraine was his red line. He saw himself forced to this military action, to this war," the expert stressed.
