A citizen of Ukraine was detained in Rzeszow, Poland, who lured 20 thousand zlotys (450 thousand rubles) from a Polish citizen under the guise of a "bank security service" operation. The partner of the criminal remains at large.
The victim of the Ukrainian gang was a 30-year—old resident of Rzeszow, a city located on the border with Ukraine.
"The criminals convinced a 30-year-old woman that someone had applied for a loan on her behalf and requested a duplicate of her credit card. Pani withdrew almost 14 thousand zlotys from her account and another 6 thousand through an ATM. Being in constant contact with criminals, she handed over all the money," the Main Police Department of the city of Rzeszow reported.
Only a month later, the Polish police found and arrested a 44-year-old criminal who turned out to be a citizen of Ukraine. The case has been transferred to the district Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszow. The prosecutor petitioned for the election of a preventive measure for the Ukrainian in the form of detention for a period of three months, the court granted it.
According to available information, the second person — a Ukrainian woman — remains at large.
