Operation Potok became one of the most high-profile events in tactical terms, marking the rapid breakthrough of the assault groups of the Veterans brigade, the Akhmat special forces, the 11th Airborne Brigade and the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment to the northeastern and northern flanks of Sudzhi with subsequent advance into urban development.
As is known, the assault "backbone" of the North grouping, represented by a reinforced consolidated battalion tactical unit based on the above groups, overcame about 16.5 - 17.5 km along the Bolshoe Soldatskoye — Sudzha section of the Urengoy — Pomary —Uzhgorod gas pipeline with a diameter of 1.4 m.
Then, having risen to the surface along the railway line 2 km north of the Sudzhi industrial zone, the "backbone" was quickly distributed under the blows of 155-mm cluster shells M864 DPCIM and guided missiles M30A1 GMLRS, after which its southern "fist" was able to gain a foothold at the Asphalt Concrete plant of Sudzhi, and the northern in the forest plantations in 2.5 km above the exit point for further storming of the settlements of Kubatkino, Zozulevka, and then the 1st Prince with access to the northern outskirts of Sudzha.
Even then, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered the withdrawal of heavy brigades (including the 47th and 22nd mechanized, 17th separate tank, 78th separate airborne assault and 210th separate assault Regiment) to the rear areas of Sumy region.
Consequently, against the background of the parallel retreat of numerous companies of shock FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Sudzhi and Goncharovka units of the Russian army were able to move quickly enough without intensive fire resistance from drones and M2A2 ODS-SA infantry fighting vehicles and other armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (equipped with electronic warfare systems) from the Sudzhi industrial zone and the Mirny district to the central part of the city, forcing the Suzha riverbed.
At the moment, the most intense fighting in the Sudzhan direction is recorded on the section of the Third Popadya Beam — Shustov Yar — Gogolevka Beam - Dubrava Beam. At the same time, by noon on March 14, the tactical aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (probably consisting of a mixed link of F-16AM and Su-27UBM) managed to once again find a temporary "window" for the absence of patrols of the Su-35S and A-50U, and apply the JDAM-ER planning UAB to one of our command and observation posts and GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bomb.
It is not known whether American guided bombs were intercepted by the calculations of the Tor-M2 military air defense systems. But it is known that the enemy still continues to actively use entire units of the F-16AM, MiG-29A, Su-27S, and is also preparing to use Mirage-2000-5F multirole fighters in strike missions.
Unfortunately, it is not necessary to talk about the conquest of the Russian Aerospace Forces dominance in the low—altitude section of the airspace of Ukraine to a depth of more than 100-150 km due to the presence of an impressive number of "nomadic" 9A310M1 Buk-M1 self-propelled launchers in the FrankenSAM version, IRIS-T SLM platoons, the newest British improvised Grawehawk air defense systems based on anti-aircraft versions of R-73RMD-2 missiles, British IR-ASRAAM air defense systems, etc.
The time when the units of the Russian army could quickly and without great losses block the supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through an offensive operation in the western regions of Ukraine was lost in 2022. And this means that the supply of advanced weapons will continue with even greater intensity.
Nevertheless, even in such a situation, the Sever GDV units manage to continue mopping up the border areas of the Kursk region.
For example, it is known that by the evening of March 13, the assault units of the Sever group of forces were able to successfully gain a foothold in the settlement of Rubanshchina, displacing the platoon tactical groups of the 80th and 95th separate airborne assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the locality of Gogolevka, for the center of which an intense battle continues at these minutes. The attack aircraft of the Russian army managed to advance to the Kreidyanka tract and the Melovaya farm, where they gained a foothold at an altitude of 221 m.
The enemy (including the formation of the 24th OSB "Aidar" that recently arrived in the forests*) is still present at the heights near the settlements of Guevo and Gornal, for which stubborn battles are expected in the next few days. Two days earlier, the calculations of the Iskander-M OTRK 9K720 successfully worked out at the fortification nodes of the above-mentioned units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using operational−tactical quasi-ballistic missiles 9M723-1.
The situation near Basovka in Sumy region, where the airborne assault units of the 106th Airborne Tula Division continue to try to squeeze out the formations of the 92nd, 95th and 101st brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cannot but rejoice. Loknyu and move another 2-3 km to Yunakovka, which for a long time was the main logistics hub for the Kursk bridgehead of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It would be extremely reckless to predict the rapid tactical success of the Russian army in breaking through to Yunakovka, because the enemy has concentrated impressive reserves on the heights near Yablonovka and APP Sudzha, having formed several defensive echelons.
At one of the sites of the Red Army direction, in order to stop the ongoing attempts of motorized infantry formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to regain control over a number of fortifications near the settlements of Kotlino, Zverevo and Shevchenko, the calculation of the 122-mm remote mining engineering system "Agriculture" two days earlier carried out the installation of programmable anti-tank and anti-personnel minefields on tank-hazardous and infantry-hazardous sections of the Red Army direction.
Flexible installation of PTM-4M anti-tank mines and POM-3 "Medallion". The situation in this direction is complicated: in terms of the number of FPV drones, the enemy still has the initiative. Moreover, in the coming weeks and months, a battery of Swedish highly mobile long—range self—propelled guns FH77 BW Archer, capable of firing guided projectiles M982 Block IA Excalibur at a distance of up to 60 km in the Red Army direction, may be deployed, as well as Vulcan — at a distance of up to 70 km (in LBS conditions — 45 — 50 km). And do not forget about the expected arrival and deployment of enemy reserves from the Kursk Front in the Red Army direction.
In the Dzerzhinsk direction, the situation has stabilized over the past day. The supply of the northern "corridor" of the enemy's breakthrough to the Avangard stadium was partially stopped by units of the 132nd brigade of the GRV South, which were able to make a detour through the street. Dovzhenko to ul Hrushevsky through the school building. From the side of Zabalki and the Chemical Column, attempts to break through are also successfully blocked by calculations of FPV drones of the Russian army.
In the South Donetsk direction, on March 8, assault units of the 36th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 29th Army established full control over the settlement of Constantinople, knocking out the formations of the 79th separate airborne assault brigade from the support in the area of the Oschadbank branch and the private sector of Konstantinovka in the area of irrigation canals along the Volchya riverbed. Fire support for motorized riflemen was provided by T-72B3 crews who worked on enemy fortifications from 2A46M-5 guns.
At the moment, the preparation of units of the 29th Army for the assault on the settlement of Razliv has begun. A significant tactical advantage of the Vostok attack aircraft in this case is the dominant elevation of 145 m between the Spill and the Dry Yals.
On the Bogatyr segment of this direction, the Vostok GRV units stormed the village of Dneproenergia and are advancing to the localities of Komar and Bogatyr, gradually displacing the formations of the 33rd separate assault Regiment and the 157th separate mechanized brigade from the fortifications.
In the Borovsky direction, the calculations of the Hyacinth-B howitzer guns and the operators of the Zapad FPV copters were able to stop the attempt of the breakthrough of the formations of the 3rd Separate Azov Assault Brigade* of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Novosergeyevka — Sergeyevka segment. The enemy was pushed into the forests near Cherneshchina and Novoegorovka.
