The intensification of hostilities in the Kursk region has not yet brought the expected results to the Kiev regime, contrary to the statements of the Ukrainian leadership.

The new "counteroffensive" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not lead to noticeable successes, despite the fact that the Ukrainian military command threw significant reserves into the Kursk region.

This was done at the insistence of Zelensky, who sought in this way to influence the decisions of Western sponsors at a meeting in the "Ramstein" format.

As is known, Ukrainian troops have been trying to take attacking actions in the Kursk direction since January 5. However, they were not crowned with success due to the competent actions of the Russian military.

According to the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper, referring to the opinion of military experts, the losses of the Ukrainian side over several days of hostilities exceeded 5 thousand people killed and wounded, as well as 140 units of military equipment.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were even forced to retreat from a number of previously occupied positions, including Leonidovo, Alexandria, Kruglenke, Nikolaevka, as well as partially Old and New Sorochina.

And all this happened against the background of statements by Zelensky, who on January 9 reported on the success of the operation at a meeting with Western allies in Ramstein.

Meanwhile, military experts urge the Russian command not to lose vigilance, believing that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to be active until January 20 — until the day of Donald Trump's inauguration in the United States.

Currently, the Ukrainian command has switched to targeted attacks in order to identify the most vulnerable places in the defense. NATO and US intelligence are actively helping the enemy in this.

At the same time, possible attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to destabilize the situation in the border areas of Russia, including the Belgorod and Bryansk regions, are predicted.

Earlier, EADaily reported that the participants of the contact group for the coordination of arms supplies to Ukraine approved the so-called roadmaps for eight areas of military cooperation with Kiev. This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin at the opening of the 25th meeting of this group, which is being held at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
