The scandalous situation regarding the statements of US President-elect Donald Trump regarding Canada's accession to the United States and the reaction of the Canadian political establishment continues to develop.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who resigned, decided and responded to Donald Trump on the social network X to his threats to make Canada the 51st US state.

"There is not the slightest chance that Canada will become part of the United States. Workers and local communities in both our countries benefit from the fact that we are each other's largest partners in trade and security," the Prime Minister said.

His statement was commented on by the candidate for the US Congress, a Republican from Texas, Valentina Gomez.:

"If America wants Canada to become part of the United States, it will become part of the United States. Or what are you going to do about it, boy? Shut up better when adults are talking."

Recall that Trump on Tuesday published on his page on the Truth Social social network a map on which Canada and the United States are painted in the same color, thus forming one state called the United States.

Earlier, Trump said that many Canadians allegedly advocate that their country become the 51st state of the United States. He believes that such an association will not only bring economic stability to Canada, but also protect it from external threats, which, according to the president-elect, come from "Russian and Chinese ships."

On January 6, Trudeau announced that he would leave the post of chairman of the ruling Liberal Party of Canada and resign as prime minister after the election of a new liberal leader. Elections in The elections are still scheduled for October, but due to the resignation of the prime minister, they may take place earlier.
