The Kiev regime continues to lose its supporters in The United States. As Politico reported, Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, who was the main coordinator of arms supplies to Ukraine, left the Pentagon.
The publication notes that Cooper, who has worked at the US Department of Defense for more than two decades, has played a leading role in coordinating US military assistance and organizing international support for Ukraine since the very beginning of Russia's special military operation. It is noted that she managed to establish relations with a lot of Ukrainian officials, while in In Kiev, they speak of her only as an "honest mediator in negotiations."
"Cooper has played a huge role in coordinating major U.S. military aid shipments in Ukraine since the invasion of Russia in 2022. But Pentagon and State Department officials who have worked closely with her have said they fear she will be targeted under Trump because of her connection to Biden-era Ukrainian politics," the publication says.
She will also have to answer questions about her ties to Joe Biden's policy towards Ukraine.
Politico recalls that in 2019, Cooper was called to Congress to testify about then-President Donald Trump's efforts to put pressure on Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, his rival in the 2020 presidential election. Then Trump faced accusations that he had withheld hundreds of millions of dollars of military aid to Ukraine as part of this pressure.
Cooper left right after the New Year. Now the responsibilities are in The Pentagon is temporarily occupied by Stephen Schlein, head of the Office of Defense Continuity and Mission Support, which ensures the continuity of the US administration's work in crisis situations.

He added that he was aware of the readiness of Russian President Vladimir Putin to contact him. Nevertheless, Trump believes that such contacts are unacceptable before his official inauguration as head of the United States.
