FSB officers prevented in A terrorist attack by the Ukrainian special services against one of the heads of a defense enterprise near Moscow. Seven Russian citizens were detained, including three minors, they give confessions.
"A terrorist act was prevented in the Moscow region, planned by the Ukrainian special services against one of the heads of a defense industrial enterprise of the Russian Federation that produces products for the Russian Ministry of Defense," the FSB Public Relations Center reported.
It is noted that "as a result of the measures taken, seven Russian citizens living in the Moscow, Sverdlovsk regions and Perm Krai were detained, including three minors involved in organizing surveillance of the parking lot of a personal car of an object of terrorist aspirations, making an improvised explosive device from components seized from a cache, and laying it under the specified car for the implementation of the explosion."
According to the investigation, "from November to December 2024, currently unidentified persons with the aim of killing one of the leaders of the leading military engineering design bureau in the Moscow region through messengers on social networks found"residents of the Russian Federation "ready to commit crimes for a monetary reward of at least 1 million rubles."
"The activities of the attackers were coordinated by employees of the special services of Ukraine through foreign Internet messengers, which is confirmed by information in the means of communication seized from them," the FSB said in a statement.
It is also indicated that the detainees had previously helped telephone fraudsters from Ukraine.
"Earlier, in the interests of the Ukrainian special services, the detainees engaged in the illegal installation and maintenance of equipment (so-called SIM boxes) used to organize conspiratorial communication channels, mass mailings of false terrorist threats and fraudulent calls to Russian citizens, and also carried out the withdrawal of criminally obtained funds and their illegal cashing," the FSB added.
Currently, members of the group are confessing and cooperating with the investigation, the department said. In relation to them, the investigator of the GSU of the RF IC on A criminal case has been opened in the Moscow Region under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted commission of a terrorist act as part of a group of persons by prior agreement).
