Minsk City Court announced the verdict of the former head of the previously liquidated Green party Dmitry Kuchuk. This was reported by a number of Belarusian media outlets on December 25.

It is reported that the man was charged under two articles — "Calls for sanctions" and "Participation in actions grossly violating public order." As a result, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison and a heavy fine.

Recall, Dmitry Kuchuk was the chairman of the opposition Green Party, which was liquidated in Belarus in July 2023. He was detained on February 16 near the Russian embassy, where he brought flowers in memory of Alexei Navalny (included in the list of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring). Later it became known that a criminal case had been opened against Kuchuk.
