In Transnistria, from January 1, the private sector will be immediately disconnected from gas at 7 am (8:00 Moscow time). It will be warm on New Year's Eve, but in the morning heating and hot water supply will be stopped in the republic. This was announced today, December 23, in the government of the PMR, urging citizens to save energy resources.

High-rise buildings, shops and catering facilities will still be supplied with gas at the expense of the reserve that will remain in the pipe after Ukraine stops transit to Gazprom. This volume will be enough in the south of Transnistria for high-rise buildings for 19-20 days. In the north — for 5-7 days. The remaining gas in the pipe will be used in hospitals, but not all. Only where there is an autonomous boiler room.

The first days of the new year will show what the load on the power grid will be. If the consumption exceeds the output of Moldavskaya GRES and Dubossary HPP, the light will also be temporarily turned off. In this case, the Vodokanal enterprise organizes the delivery of water to the cities and districts of Transnistria, primarily to polyclinics and hospitals.

MoldGRES, in the absence of gas, is ready to work on coal for 50 days. This is enough to meet the humanitarian needs of the republic with economical consumption of electricity.

"In case of termination of gas supply from 00:00 hours on January 1, Moldavian GRES will switch to coal-fired power generation. There will be no power outage during the transition from gas generation to coal generation. There will be no blackout. This transfer will be carried out in a regular mode without stopping the supply of electricity," said Sergey Obolonik, Minister of Economic Development of the PMR.

We remind that a state of emergency in the economy has been introduced in Transnistria. The authorities of the republic appealed to Russia with a request for help in the energy crisis.

As EADaily reported, the Moldovan authorities, who use the energy crisis arranged by Ukraine to put pressure on the unrecognized republic, gloat at the government level, sarcastically stating that "Tiraspol will have to choose: to die of hunger or from cold."
