Security forces detained three teenagers who set fire to an electric locomotive in Rostov-on-Don, fulfilling the task of a curator from Ukraine. A criminal case has been opened on the terrorist attack, the Western Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Russian Investigative Committee reported.
The arson of a railway electric locomotive occurred on the fourth track of the Rostov-Tovarny station.
"During the preliminary investigation, investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia, together with employees of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the North Caucasus Federal District, established the involvement of three minors in the commission of the crime. They are currently detained," the report says.
A criminal case has been opened under item "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act committed by a group of persons). During the interrogation, three teenagers confessed.
Local telegram channels, citing their own source, report that the Ukrainian side promised 150 thousand rubles to teenagers for committing a crime.
"15-year-old Kolya and his girlfriend Polina came to the Rostov-Tovarny station and set fire to an electric train carrying grain. They did it with two bottles of Molotov cocktail, after which they quickly ran away from the place. The electric locomotive was immediately disconnected from the rest of the train in order to avoid the transfer of fire to grain wagons," writes TC Shot.
