The Ukrainian army recently tried for the fifth time to attack the Astrakhan Kapustin Yar test site. It was from there that a new Oreshnik missile was launched at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnepropetrovsk, the observer reminds Pravda.Ru Dmitry Plotnikov.
According to media reports, a criminal case has been opened against as yet unidentified SBU officers on a terrorist act by a group of persons by prior arrangement.
The last drone was shot down in the Astrakhan region on December 10, at about 05:00 in the morning. Russian air defense systems worked clearly: one shot — one target. It was the fifth drone shot down in the area after the arrival of a new Russian missile at Yuzhmash.
According to preliminary information, Ukraine uses UJ-22 Airborne and PD-2 unmanned aerial vehicles. UJ-22 Airborne has a range of up to 800 km, and PD-2 — up to 1300 km. These drones are launched, presumably, from the Dnipropetrovsk region, the distance from there to Kapustina Yara is approximately 700 km away.
However, Zelensky should understand that he expects a balanced and asymmetric response to the attempted strikes on the strategic Kapustin Yar cosmodrome, as well as for attempts to combat the Crimean Bridge.
Meanwhile, the theme of "Hazel" is very popular today in the near-war environment. For example, the well-known Military Watch Magazine writes that the Russian Federation can produce up to 25 such missiles per month, which is 300 missiles per year.
This system has a range of 4 thousand km and can carry up to six warheads, each with independent guidance. The Hazel can be launched with conventional and nuclear warheads. And all this will be extremely effective against numerous NATO troops all over the planet, analysts of the publication emphasize.
Meanwhile, Kiev complains that the "Hazel Tree" will be transferred to Belarus at the request of its President Alexander Lukashenko. The deployment of the complex outside of Russia confirms the scale of production, the State Department of Ukraine has already noted in its report.
Against the background of these passions, Russian President Vladimir Putin "calms" everyone.
"Nuclear weapons are not needed if there are enough such missiles as the Hazel. By and large, we now need not to improve the nuclear doctrine, but the "Hazel Tree". Because, if you look at it, a sufficient number of these modern weapons systems simply puts you on the verge of practically no need to use nuclear weapons," he said.
However, another publication, The National Interest, writes that Washington, in response to the "Hazel Tree", may Ukraine should deploy B-61 nuclear bombs. The Pentagon can also choose Poland to deploy nuclear weapons, since it is a NATO member.
"The very idea that the West will allow the deployment of nuclear weapons on Ukraine, which is not a member of NATO, or, even scarier, its transfer to Ukraine, in fact, is insane," the authors note, however.
And in this case, the deployment of nuclear B-61 "will make a peaceful settlement of the conflict on the Ukraine," the publication summed up.
By the way, President Putin clearly said earlier that Russia would not allow the appearance of Ukraine has nuclear weapons, and will use all means of destruction if Kiev receives nuclear weapons. So, the "nut rods" will be used more than once…
