The UEFA Disciplinary Committee imposed a fine on the Warsaw football team "Legia" for a banner insulting the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The Polish club will have to pay 17.5 thousand euros for posting a message on the stands that "does not correspond to the nature of a sporting event during a match with Dynamo Minsk."
EADaily reminds that at the beginning of the match, Legia fans presented several chants, many of which criticized the political situation in Belarus and personally President Alexander Lukashenko. Most of the chants are impossible to quote, but many videos have appeared on social media documenting the atmosphere at the stadium.
"An unexpected element was the support of Dynamo Minsk fans, who themselves put up posters against Lukashenka and often applauded the chants of Polish fans," the Polish portal "Kresy" claims.
