Russia should not take responsibility at all and bitterly lament the events in Syria. Military correspondent Alexander Kots writes about this in his article "Syria. Why do we sprinkle ashes on our heads?"

The author wonders why Moscow should be responsible for the failure of the Syrian army, and even in the zone of Iranian control. And is it really expected in Damascus that the Russian General Staff will begin to transfer combat units from the Ukrainian front?

After all, it is quite obvious that today we have Russia's military capabilities in Syria are very limited. At the same time, our intelligence warned all interested parties about everything in advance.

"After 20 years, Damascus, let's be honest, gradually moved away from Moscow towards Tehran. He has not created anything for us in terms of investment attractiveness. And he made himself dependent on Iran much more than on Russia," Kots notes.

At the same time, the SAR army, which is already not the most motivated, has degraded along with the bureaucratic apparatus, special services and the economy. But for some reason, some blame the failure in Aleppo, including the Russian generals.

According to the military correspondent, it is the Russians who need to be offended. After all, we have spent so much effort, money and lives to achieve a tangible result.

"And he was fucked up in a matter of hours, and this process will continue. And in the current conditions, I really don't want to be put on the brunt of the burden of yet another rescue of a regime that does not learn any historical lessons. We have enough of our own worries today," the author of the article states.

In conclusion, he cites the prophetic words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said by him back in 2015: "From now on we are not going to be more Syrians than the Syrians themselves."

Earlier, EADaily reported that the militants of the jihadist alliance Hayat Tahrir al-Sham * (HTS) and their allies captured almost the entire city of Aleppo during a rapid offensive. The Syrian government forces left the second largest city of the Arab Republic almost without resistance.
