South Korea will postpone maintenance of German Taurus missiles for five years, as the manufacturer supplies the necessary spare parts to Ukraine. This was reported by Yonhap news agency on Thursday, November 28.
"The Air Force is pushing back the plan for the implementation of basic maintenance of the Taurus KEPD 350K long-range air-to-ground missiles five years later ... the manufacturer disapproved of this due to instability with the supply of certain parts related to the engine," the agency's material says.
Initially, the agreement was to be implemented in 2025. South Korea purchased Taurus in 2015, and the agreement with their manufacturer, the German company Taurus Systems, provided for major maintenance every ten years.
Earlier, the South Korean authorities reacted with skepticism to Ukraine's request to sell weapons to it. As noted, during the preparation of the agenda of the visit, it became known that Ukraine declared its desire to buy weapons, and not to get them for free, Izvestia clarifies.
