American actor and producer Alec Baldwin criticized the Americans at the Turin Film Festival, where he received the award for outstanding achievements. It is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the artist, information in the United States is driven by money, and news is a business.

"That's why there is a gap in information about the most important issues in the world. Americans know little or nothing about climate change, about Ukraine. This gap is partially filled by the film industry, documentaries and feature films," Baldwin said.

The publication notes that the actor agreed to take part in the press conference only on the condition that the incident with the death of Ukrainian cameraman Galina Hutchins on the set of the film Rust ("Rust") would not be mentioned in any format.

As reported by EADaily, the shooting of the western "Rust" began on October 6, 2021. The Bonanza Creek Ranch shooting happened in the middle of a scene that was either rehearsed or filmed. The incident occurred on October 21 when firing a pistol that was supposed to be loaded with blanks.

The director of the film was wounded in the collarbone, and 42-year-old cameraman Galina Hutchins was seriously injured, she was airlifted to a hospital in Albuquerque. Doctors could not save her life.

Last year, the case was considered in court, and all charges were dropped from the actor. However, in mid-January, a grand jury in New Mexico has decided to re-file charges against Baldwin. Also, the charge of manslaughter and falsification of evidence was brought against the consultant of the painting on weapons Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. It was then that it turned out that she had mixed up blanks and live ammunition. She pleaded guilty and went to jail for 18 months.

In July of this year, the court dropped the charges against Baldwin again.
