Law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan have launched a pre-trial investigation into the fact that one of the advertising screens of Astana during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, instead of the Russian tricolor, was painted in the colors of the flag of Ukraine for some time. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into yesterday's incident related to Keruen Media LLP. At the moment, all possible variants of the incident are being considered, including versions with technical malfunctions, as well as possible external unlawful interference in the functioning of the company's equipment," the agency said.

The press service added that at present all the circumstances of the incident are being established.

"The persons guilty of illegal acts will be brought to justice," the ministry said in a statement.

On Wednesday evening, when the Russian leader arrived in the Kazakh capital, the advertising screen near the Astana Opera theater was painted in the colors of the flag of Ukraine for a while. After that, the screen was turned off and no longer turned on at all.
