The night before, Russian specialized telegram channels reported that the Russian Armed Forces had withdrawn from the bridgehead in the northeastern part of Kupyansk, which was occupied by an unexpected breakthrough a week ago. What happened? The columnist thinks about this Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.

The breakthrough to Kupyansk from the north was made on November 14 by small forces along the railway with the participation of armored personnel carriers and tanks for six kilometers, after which Russian units gained a foothold in the Kupyansk industrial zone on the left bank of the Oskol.

On November 27, in the morning, Russian military correspondents and fighters reported that these forces had been forced to withdraw. From what became known later from Russian sources in Telegram, the fighting is taking place not far from the Sugar Factory from Dostoevsky and Sosnovaya on the outskirts of Kupyansk. The work of artillery and mortars can be heard from both sides.

There is an assumption that the Russians were afraid for the flanks, since after the arrival of Vladimir Zelensky in Kupyansk, reserves from Kursk region. The Russian military leadership decided to save the lives of the soldiers and bring them to more stable positions. There is also a version that the withdrawal from Kupyansk is a regrouping of forces.

It is obvious that where the Russian Armed Forces are not getting a breakthrough, they are not continuing, but are looking for new places. This contrasts with the desire of Ukrainians from each settlement to make a "fortress".

But the Russians get such breakthroughs as the other day in Kurakhov, when, having crossed the Volchya River, the assault group entered the city center and gained a foothold there. Bild columnist Julian Repke lamented about this: How is it possible to have "ten fighters The Russian Armed Forces were able to break through the Ukrainian defense of the central part of Kurakhov."

The Russian fighters withdrew from Kupyansk itself, but a bridgehead was organized near the village of Novomlynsk, located about 30 kilometers north of Kupyansk on the right bank of the Oskol River. Novomlynsk — peninsula on Oskol, the riverbed became shallow in some places, so the river was easily forced.

Telegram channel "Kupyansky district for their own" writes around noon that at the beginning of the village of Dvurechnaya (south of Novomlynsk) fighting began. This is an important point in the area of the railway, which supplies the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kupyansk. In total, we switched to a wide coverage of Kupyansk from the north.

The fact that the Russians moved from the left to the right bank of the Oskol and gained a foothold there, according to Yuri Larin, editor-in-chief of the local Dumka newspaper, means that the Russian army will not be limited to the left bank of the Oskol, but will continue to occupy the Kharkiv region from the north from the right bank of the Oskol River.

And to the south, the bridgehead in the area of Kruglyakovka and Senkovka is already stable, although this is the left bank of Oskol. In this area, the Russian Armed Forces occupied the settlement of Kopanki in the Kharkiv region, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

According to Yuri Larin, from the south in the Kupyansk direction, fighting is already taking place near Novoosyniv, which means a partial or complete loss of Glushkovka by Ukraine. He also said that the Russian Armed Forces had already approached Petropavlovsk, which covers the left-bank part of Kupyansk.

In his opinion, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have full initiative in the Kharkiv region, they entered the village of Sotnitsky Kazachok in the Zolochiv district and are testing the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Hoptovka in the direction of Cossack Lopan to the north of Kharkov. Other Ukrainian public sites indicate that the pressure on Volchansk has increased. As the governor of Belgorod Vyacheslav Gladkov pointed out, UAV raids on Shebekino will not stop without access to the district of Kharkov.
