Russia will not tolerate the activity of British intelligence agencies working under diplomatic cover. This was announced today, November 26, to the British Ambassador to Nigel Casey of Russia, who was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The British ambassador was again stressed that Moscow would not tolerate the activities of undeclared British intelligence officers on the territory of Russia," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
If London escalates the situation, the Russian side will immediately respond, the Foreign Ministry stressed.
Earlier, the FSB of the Russian Federation reported that the second secretary of the political department of the British Embassy carried out intelligence and subversive work that threatens the security of Russia. In this regard, it was decided to revoke his accreditation, he was ordered to leave Russia within two weeks.
