The Russian Armed Forces destroyed the assault units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region, the surviving servicemen surrendered. This was announced by the deputy commander of the Ukrainian platoon of the 25th assault battalion of the 47th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and now prisoner of war Vasily Mashiko.

The prisoner of war stressed that before the battle, the Russian military offered his unit to lay down their weapons, but the Ukrainian commander gave the order to open fire. As a result, most of the assault unit, including the commander, was destroyed, and the rest surrendered.

"And that's it, I realized that I had to give up. Yours threw grenades at ours. The commander was killed, three "two hundredths" and the machine gunner was also wounded in the head and in the back. He was in another trench from me... they captured yours right away. I saw that they took another one of our group. And they were already leading a whole group into captivity. Only 2 of us and 5 of those were captured (from two groups), (in total) 7 people," Mashiko told RIA Novosti.

Mashiko was captured on the territory of the Kursk region in November.
